Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz inspected the King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah today. The airport has been undergoing a major expansion and renovation in order to accommodate the large number of pilgrims who pass through it each year.

The expansion is being undertaken in three phases. After completion of the first phase in 2008, the airport will be able to accommodate between 25 and 30 million passengers. Once the third phase is completed in 2010, the airport will have a capacity of 80 million passengers.
