Arab Interior Ministers conclude meeting in Tunis

The Arab Interior Ministers Council concluded their 24th meeting in Tunis today. Minister of Interior Prince Nayef bin Abdulaziz led the Saudi delegation.

In a statement, the Council said that it discussed a number of issues at the meeting and approved items, including a draft plan on combating illegal drug use and terrorism; a draft plan on civil protection; and the renewal of Dr. Muhammad Koman’s appointment as Secretary-General of the Council.

The Council called on Arab Interior Ministries to support police in Iraq and Lebanon.

In remarks at the session, Prince Nayef – who is also honorary president of the Arab Interior Ministers’ Council – said he hoped that the situations in Iraq, Lebanon and Palestine would be resolved and stability achieved.
