Saudi humanitarian assistance has been distributed to countries in western Africa.  The aid included 650 tons of foodstuffs in Guinea-Bissau and 1,300 tons in Sierra Leone. 

The aid is part of the Kingdom’s $10 million donation to hunger-stricken African nations that was announced in September 2006. Saudi Arabia coordinated with the World Food Program (WFP) to determine which countries should receive the aid, which is being distributed by the WFP.
