Saudi Arabia funds training center for women in the West Bank

The Saudi Committee for the Relief of the Palestinian People today signed an agreement with the United Nations Program for Human Settlements (UN Habitat) to fund a training center for Palestinian women in the West Bank.

The $1.6 million project will provide technical and vocational training to impoverished women and those with special needs in Al-Khalil (Hebron). It will be implemented in coordination with Habitat and Palestinian authorities.

Last year, Saudi Arabia funded the construction of 100 housing units for widows and divorcees in Al-Khalil.  The units were also constructed in cooperation with Habitat.
