The Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Abdulrahman Al-Attiyah, issued a statement today calling on the Palestinian factions to stop fighting and turn to dialogue in the interest of Palestinian national reconciliation.

Al-Attiyah noted that during their meeting yesterday, GCC leaders expressed their sorrow at the recent incidents in Palestine that led to fierce fighting and the loss of innocent life among the Palestinians. They also urged Palestinian leaders to remain committed to the Makkah Agreement, renounce violence and hold those responsible for the violence accountable, he said.
