Saudi Minister of Culture and Information Iyad Madani and the head of the Russian Federal Agency for Culture and Cinema introduced "The Activities of Saudi Cultural Days in Federal Russia."

Minister Madani said that the cultural days are established as a result of an agreement signed in Riyadh during President Vladimir Putin's visit to Saudi Arabia to strengthen cultural relations between the two countries.  Madani further stated, "I believe no one will be a well-read person unless he reads literary works of Russian writers. On the other hand, Saudi Arabia is the land of the Islamic Holy Places and the cradle of Arabs and the Arabic language as well as it symbolizes civilization and cultural diversity."
