The Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) committee on Palestine met at OIC headquarters in Jeddah yesterday. The committee condemned the recent violence in Gaza and stressed the legality of the Palestinian government led by President Mahmoud Abbas. It urged all Palestinian factions to help Abbas’ emergency government restore normalcy in accordance with Palestinian law.

The OIC committee called on member states to support the Palestinian Authority as well as all Saudi and Egyptian efforts to bring about a national reconciliation in Palestine. It also welcomed recent countries’ recent decision to resume aid to the Palestinians.
