OIC urges aid for victims of heavy flooding in Pakistan

The Jeddah-based Organization of the Islamic Conference has issued a statement of concern over the devastating impact of heavy rains and flooding in Pakistan.


In a statement today, Secretary-General Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu expressed his shock and sadness over the loss of life, massive destruction and displacement of millions caused by the deteriorating weather conditions.

Ihsanoglu offered his sincere condolences to the government and people of Pakistan. He also appealed to OIC member states to provide all possible humanitarian assistance to help Pakistan overcome this natural disaster.
