OIC Secretary-General condemns suicide attack on Islamabad mosque

The Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) has strongly condemned the suicide attack on Islamabad’s Red Mosque yesterday that killed at least 22 and injured a number of others. 

In a statement today, Secretary-General Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu extended his condolences to the government and people of Pakistan, in particular the families of the victims. He appealed for an end to the senseless cycle of violence that is claiming lives and threatening social stability.

Ihsanoglu also called for a thorough investigation into the attack so that the perpetrators can be brought to justice.
