Saudi diplomatic mission arrives in Iraq

A Saudi diplomatic delegation representing the Ministry of Foreign Affairs arrived in Baghdad today to study the possibility of reopening a Saudi embassy in Iraq.


In a statement, Iraqi President Jalal Talabani welcomed the Saudi decision to send the delegation, and expressed the hope that the move would enhance Saudi-Iraqi relations on all levels.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Saud Al-Faisal announced that the Kingdom would send a delegation to Iraq to explore the possibility of reopening a Saudi embassy there in an August 1 press conference.
