King Abdullah meets with Jordanian ruler for talks

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz held talks with King Abdullah II of Jordan in Jeddah today. The Jordanian ruler was in Saudi Arabia for a brief one-day visit.  

The two leaders addressed a number of Arab, Islamic and international issues, in particular the situations in Palestine, Iraq and Lebanon as well as the Middle East peace process. Areas of bilateral cooperation were also discussed. The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques also hosted a luncheon in honor of his royal guest and the accompanying Jordanian delegation.

In remarks to the Saudi daily Okaz, Jordanian Foreign Minister Dr. Abdulilah Al-Khatib characterized the Saudi-Jordanian talks as part of the ongoing cooperation and consultation between the two leaders. He welcomed the leadership role played by King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz in containing regional crises and seeking Arab solidarity.
