Ramadan begins September 13

The holy month of Ramadan will begin September 13, the Royal Court announced in a statement yesterday. The Supreme Judiciary Council issued the decision yesterday since there have been no sightings of the crescent moon that traditionally marks the beginning of Ramadan.

In an address on the occasion, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz called for Muslim unity and urged all Muslims to give generously to those in need.
