Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Saud Al-Faisal met with Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice in New York last night. Prince Saud is currently in the United States to head the Saudi delegation to the 62nd session of the United Nations General Assembly.

During the meeting, Prince Saud and Secretary Rice discussed topics on the agenda for this year’s UN session as well as other issues of mutual interest. He held a similar meeting with Spanish Foreign Minister Miguel Angel Moratinos.

Also yesterday, Prince Saud participated in a ministerial meeting of the Arab Peace Initiative committee to discuss the US call for an international peace conference on Palestine this fall. In addition, Prince Saud attended an iftar along with members of the committee and the Quartet.
