Saudi Arabia and Jordan have signed an agreement to demarcate their marine border in the Gulf of Aqaba.

Minister of Interior Prince Nayef bin Abdulaziz and Jordanian Interior Minister Eid Al-Fayez signed the agreement at a ceremony in Jeddah yesterday.

In remarks today, Prince Nayef said that the agreement is within the framework of the close Saudi-Jordanian relations and mutual interest. He noted that the negotiations over the agreement were conducted smoothly and without incident.

Jordan and Saudi Arabia previously signed a land border agreement in 1965.
