Saudi Arabia will host the 3rd summit of Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) heads of state November 17-18, at the invitation of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz.

Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Ali Al-Naimi made the announcement in a statement yesterday. He said that hosting the summit confirms Saudi Arabia’s interest in maintaining stable oil markets in a way that serves the interests of producing and consuming countries alike.

The agenda for the summit will focus on the provision of energy supplies, support for global prosperity and protecting the environment, Al-Naimi said.
