Preparatory meetings began in Kuwait City today in advance of Tuesday’s meeting of the interior ministers of Iraq’s neighboring countries. Representatives of Egypt and Bahrain will also attend the meeting.

Undersecretary of the Interior Ministry Dr. Ahmed Al-Salem led the Saudi delegation to the preparatory meeting. Dr. Al-Salem said that the meeting would focus on security in Iraq, counterterrorism progress as well as ways to enhance security measures at the Iraqi borders to reduce infiltration and smuggling.
