Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz have arrived in Mina to personally supervise the pilgrim’s progress to the holy sites.
In addition, Saudi officials have reported that the security situation is good and that the traffic leading to Jamarat went smoothly without incident.
Saudi authorities have completed thorough preparations at Jamarat to ensure that pilgrims can conduct the stoning ritual easily and safely. This year, the Jamarat Bridge was expanded so that it can accommodate 360,000 pilgrims per hour.
Additionally, a special brigade of the Civil Defense Force has been deployed to the area to perform crowd control. Strategies remain flexible so that the brigade will be on alert and able to act quickly if the need arises.
