International tourism seminar opens in Jeddah

The Assistant Secretary-General of the Supreme Commission for Tourism Dr Khalid bin Ibrahim Al-Dakheel opened a two-day international tourism seminar in Jeddah today, on behalf of Secretary-General Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdulaziz.

The Seminar on Tourism Sustainability and Local Agenda 21 in Tourism Destinations and Workshop on Sustainability Indicators for Tourism Destinations is being organized in cooperation with the United Nations World Tourism Organization.

In remarks delivered on his behalf by Dr Dakheel, Prince Sultan emphasized the importance of the seminar in focusing attention on the sustainable development of tourism. He also stressed Saudi Arabia’s interest in sustainable development in general and tourism development in particular.
