The Kingdom’s Grand Mufti Shaikh Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al-AsShaikh, who also chairs the Senior Commission of ulema (religious scholars), yesterday denounced the foiled terrorist attack on the Abqaiq oil facility, which was committed by criminals in an attempt to disrupt the Kingdom’s economy.

In his remarks, the Grand Mufti said that the failed attack reveals the hatred of the terrorists, who are hiding behind religion.

The Grand Mufti reiterated previous statements by ulema condemning Al-Qaeda’s actions, stressed that the terrorists’ actions are contrary to Islam and forbade anyone from harboring or cooperating with them.
