New Saudi TV channel to broadcast legislative sessions

Minister of Culture and Information Iyad Madani said today that the Kingdom is in the process of creating a fifth television channel that will exclusively broadcast Shura Council and Municipal Council deliberations.

Madani said that the new channel is being launched in order to acquaint the public with the workings of the legislative bodies.

He also said that the Saudi Channel Two would be completely overhauled, and its programming devoted exclusively to foreign media.

In addition, literary clubs would be reorganized and club presidents elected instead of appointed, the minister said.
