Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Saud Al-Faisal met yesterday with a Hamas delegation led by Political Bureau chief Khaled Mishaal, currently on a visit to the Kingdom.

In an interview published by the Arab News today, Mishaal said that he was visiting the Kingdom in order to discuss the Palestinian situation following Hamas’ surprise victory in recent elections with Saudi officials.

Mishaal said that his delegation discussed political views concerning the new Palestinian government with Prince Saud, and that they had also briefed the Saudi foreign minister on their upcoming visits to Kuwait, Bahrain and Malaysia.

Chief of General Intelligence Prince Muqren bin Abdulaziz also met with the Hamas delegation to discuss developments in the Palestinian situation.
