An economic forum on the Kingdom’s role as a member of the World Trade Organization (WTO) is scheduled to begin in Jeddah on April 10, 2006.

More than 400 businesspeople, academics, and representatives of governmental and nongovernmental organizations are expected to participate in the two-day forum. Participants will discuss various issues surrounding Saudi Arabia’s membership in the WTO, including the export of Saudi industrial products and the development of human resources.

The secretary-general of the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Muhammad Abdullah Al-Shareef, is slated to open the forum.
