Saudi military helicopter crashes in the Red Sea

The Ministry of Defense and Aviation said today that a Saudi military helicopter crashed during a Saudi Royal Navy training exercise in the Red Sea.

In a statement, the Ministry said that a Dolphin helicopter lifted off from the ship Abha, then experienced technical problems that caused it to crash. The pilot and co-pilot were rescued, but a search remains underway for a third crew member.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
