The Hail University is one of the new universities established by the government as part of an effort to make education available to students throughout the Kingdom. Universities are also planned for Tabuk and Baha.
Minister of Higher Education Khaled Al-Anqari said that the Hail campus will cover an area of 9 million square meters, and will include colleges of medicine, sciences, engineering, and a community college. The project is estimated to cost SR 645 million [$172 million].
While in Hail, King Abdullah also opened new water and infrastructure projects. In addition, he granted 80 million square meters of land to the citizens of Hail.
