Saudi human rights chief addresses UN council

In an address to the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva today, President of the Saudi Human Rights Commission Turki Al-Sudairi reaffirmed the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz’s commitment to promoting human rights in a way that safeguards the Kingdom’s cultural values, which include adherence to Shari’ah law.

Al-Sudairi confirmed the Kingdom’s cooperation with the international community in matters of global security, safety and stability. He also noted that Saudi Arabia’s Human Rights Commission acts independently and will transparency to maintain human rights.
