Ministry provides more details about yesterday’s raid in Al-Nakheel

The Ministry also provided more details on the deaths of six militants in a shootout in the Al-Nakheel neighborhood of Riyadh yesterday. The six, all Saudis, were killed after they initiated a gunfight with security forces while driving a stolen car to a safehouse in Al-Nakheel.

The names of the six are: Mohammad bin Rashed Al-Julaidan; Sami bin Saud Al-Motairi; Misha’al bin Abdullah Al-Reshoud; Homoud bin Moqbil Al-Otaibi; Sa’ad bin Abdullah Al-Mu’aither; and Ghazi bin Salayym Al-Otaibi.

A seventh militant who was arrested in the raid is still receiving medical treatment and remains unidentified for security reasons.

Information obtained during the raid also resulted in the arrests of two additional suspected militants with direct links to the group.

In the safehouse, security forces confiscated weapons, cash, forged documents, computers, telecommunications equipment, forged vehicle registrations, equipment for forging and a studio for filming.

One security member was killed in the raid. He has been identified as Abdulrahman bin Hassan Al-Shehri. Seven others were also injured, but are now in stable condition.
