Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz attended a ceremony to mark the launch of a number of key education, health and transportation projects in Taif today. The King’s visit to Taif is part of his tour of the Kingdom that has included previous visits to Madinah, Hail, Qassim and Al-Baha.

In Taif, King Abdullah will launch education and training projects including technical colleges and the King Abdullah University for Sciences and Technology, a women’s technical education institute and vocational training institutes. The projects are estimated to cost SR 300 million [$80 million].

Transportation projects to be launched include the construction of the 12-km two-way Hada-Kara road as well as other road projects.

Health projects include laying the foundation stones for 43 health centers, the King Faisal Hospital, the Hospital for Women and Children and the Al-Khurmah General Hospital.
