Foreign Minister: Arabs will support UN resolution on Lebanon

Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Saud Al-Faisal delivered a message from Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz to Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh in Sanaa today. The message focused on the crisis in Lebanon, ongoing efforts to convene an extraordinary Arab summit, and bilateral cooperation.

In remarks to the press in Sanaa, Prince Saud said that Arab countries would support the UN Security Council resolution to end the hostilities in Lebanon.

“We want what the Lebanese want, and if Lebanon supports the resolution issued by the UN, then the Arabs will support it,” he said.

Prince Saud expressed his hope that Lebanon would soon be able to begin reconstruction, and highlighted the importance of extending the authority of the Lebanese government throughout the country.
