Deputy Interior Minister: trials for terror suspects are ongoing

Deputy Interior Minister Prince Ahmad bin Abdulaziz said yesterday that trials for those involved in terrorist acts remain ongoing, including four suspected militants arrested in Jeddah August 21, and that the culprits would be punished in accordance with Shari’ah law.

Prince Ahmed made the remarks at the opening of an exhibition in Makkah on the history of education in Saudi Arabia.

He also noted that the nine Saudi former Guantanamo detainees who were released from Saudi custody last week were “unjustly” treated and had been sufficiently punished.
