Saudi Arabia observes National Day

Saudi Arabia today observed its 76th National Day, which marks the anniversary of the founding of the modern Kingdom by King Abdulaziz Al-Saud in 1932. National Day is observed each year on September 23.

In remarks to the Cabinet this week, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz said that National Day exemplifies the unity of the Saudi nation, its adherence to Islam, and the pursuit of justice and equality among citizens. It also highlights the Kingdom’s commitment to development as well as its contributions to Arab unity, the Islamic nation and global stability, the King said.

King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz received congratulatory cables from world leaders in honor of National Day. Saudi embassies around the world also hosted special celebrations.
