King Abdullah awarded international Islamic prize

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah has been awarded the Prince Nayef International Prize for Sunnah and Islamic Studies for 2006.

The higher commission for the prize includes Muslim scholars from a number of Islamic countries. They unanimously selected the King as this year’s recipient in recognition of his efforts to serve Islam and Muslims, in particular his initiative to convene the extraordinary Organization of the Islamic Conference summit in Makkah in December 2005.
