The projects, worth billions of riyals, signify a new era of development in the southern part of the Kingdom.
During his tour, King Abdullah will lay the foundation stones for four university colleges, including Jizan University; 138 boys’ and girls’ schools; various health projects including a 200-bed hospital; a higher institute of technology for girls; and a vocational training institute. He will also launch a project to pump water from the Empty Quarter.
King Abdullah has made similar visits to launch projects in Jubail, Al-Khobar, Qateef, Ahsa, Hail, Qassim and Madinah.
