In remarks published by the Lebanese newspaper Al-Lewa today, Khoja questioned reports that suggested Saudi Arabia supports a proposal to expand the current government as a way to end the current crisis.
“The Kingdom is keen not to interfere in the Lebanese affairs, and its role is to enhance the agreement between the Lebanese people,” Khoja said.
The ambassador also noted that the Kingdom has continuously called on the political parties in Lebanon to exercise restraint and respond to President Nabih Berri’s call for dialogue to resolve controversial issues.
“However, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is not a part of the internal political movement,” Khoja said.
