Saudi Minister attends convention on climate change in Nairobi

Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Ali Al-Naimi attended the twelfth Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change and second meeting of the Parties to the Kyoto Protocol in Nairobi, Kenya.

In his address to the meeting, Al-Naimi underlined Saudi Arabia’s intent to participate in international community efforts to confront climate change.  He also expressed the Kingdom’s concern over the effects on the economy of oil-producing countries which may result from policies to limit petroleum consumption.

The meeting of experts at the conference was headed by Dr. Mohammed Al-Saban, and advisor to the Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources.
