Saudi Red Crescent Chief thanks King for appointment

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz yesterday appointed Prince Faisal bin Abdullah bin Abdulaziz President of the Saudi Red Crescent Society with the rank of minister.  Prince Faisal was named chief of the Red Crescent Monday at the recommendation of the Health Minister.

Prince Faisal graduated from the American University in London in 1983 and completed a special course in security and intelligence studies with the British Army in 1988.  In 1991 he was appointed director-general of the Department of Documents and Information at the National Guard, where he served until 2000.  He was then made advisor to the Chief of General Intelligence, a post he kept until Monday’s announcement.
