Ambassador to the United Kingdom and Ireland Prince Turki Al-Faisal, addressing a meeting in London of leaders of various faiths and development organizations, stressed that dialogue remains the sole option for promoting civilization on the basis of peace, tolerance and mutual respect. Commenting on the dependence of human development on the factor of stability, he declared that what the world now needs is cooperation and tolerance, not conflict. He called for a solution to be found for the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, which threatens the future of the Middle East; and referred to terrorism as against all Islamic principles. He reaffirmed that Muslims respect all religions and prophets, and regard all people as equal before God.
The meeting was initiated by President of the World Bank James Wolfensohn, and attended by former Archbishop of Canterbury Lord George Carey, and Patriarch of the Catholic Church in Ireland Wai Ramoid Martin.
