Saudi engineering student honored as one of world’s best

Dhaifullah Mustafa Al-Zahrani, a student at King Abdul Aziz University (KAAU) in Jeddah, has been listed by Lucent Technologies as one of the 56 best electrical engineering students in the world. The English-language daily Arab News reported today that the 25-year-old student, who had applied for a Lucent training scholarship after reading an ad on campus, was invited to the Lucent Center in New York, the only student from the Arab and Islamic world selected. While there, he had the opportunity of meeting with six Nobel Prize winners doing scientific research work at the Lucent Center, and has himself been offered employment by Lucent after completing his studies.
