Prince Nayef speaks of terrorist situation as well as King’s health

Minister of Interior Prince Nayef bin Abdulaziz, at a press conference today following the inauguration of a new batch of security forces trainees in Riyadh, confirmed that the health of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Fahd bin Abdulaziz continues to improve, and deplored false media reports that his condition is critical.

Addressing the issue of terrorism, Prince Nayef disclosed that Syria has recently handed over about 30 Saudi nationals suspected of trying to infiltrate into Iraq. He went on to declare that there are no indications of any new terrorist cells being formed in the Kingdom, denying press reports that security forces have recently detected a new list of terrorists. Asked about the trial of detainees following the most recent bombings in the Kingdom, he said they will all be brought to justice, and confirmed that all victims of the terrorist incidents will be compensated. Prince Nayef gave reassurances that the Saudi authorities are always following up the cases of Saudi nationals detained in Guantanamo Bay.
