Crown Prince Sultan went on to express appreciation for the sincere feelings extended by the Saudi people towards King Fahd, who, he said, was a father to the young and a brother to the older generation. Referring to him as “a farsighted leader and a man of vision, reason, wisdom and bravery”, the Crown Prince declared that “King Fahd worked to build his country and develop his people, and exerted intensive efforts in the service of Arab and Muslim causes.” He pointed out that King Fahd, who adopted the title ‘Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques’, carried out the greatest expansion project in the history of the holy sites.
Crown Prince Sultan then gave thanks to God for Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, calling him King Fahd's honest assistant and a man who has devoted his time to the Muslim community as well as to his religion and his country. Saudi Arabia, he declared, will progress under his leadership and in accordance with the teachings of the Holy Qur’an and the Sunnah [traditions of the Prophet].
