Prince Saud meets with Senate Foreign Relations Committee members

Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Saud Al-Faisal today met with members of the U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee at the US Capitol.  The meeting, which was hosted by Senate Foreign Relations Committee Chairman Richard Lugar (R-Indiana), touched on a wide range of issues, with the main focus the situation in Iraq. Prince Saud warned that the situation in Iraq is very dangerous and could lead to the disintegration of Iraq if things continue as they are. The Kingdom's objectives in Iraq, Prince Saud told the senators, is a stable, secure and united Iraq. Saudi Arabia looks forward to the success of the political process in establishing a government for all the people of Iraq.

The meeting was also attended by Senators Chuck Hagel (R-Nebraska), John Kerry (D-Massachusetts) and George Voinovich (R-Ohio).
