Arab conference endorses plan for protection of children’s rights

In a statement today at the end of their three-day conference in Tunis, ministers of education of the League of Arab States announced a plan for protection of children’s rights over the period 2004-2015. The Saudi delegation to the conference was led by Minister of Education and Chairman of the National Childhood Committee Dr. Muhammad Al-Rasheed. In his address on Monday he stressed that the future of the Arab world depends on attention being paid to educating the children who will assume power. He referred to the great concern Saudi Arabia has shown for human development and children in particular, and the establishment of the Higher Council for the Affairs of the Handicapped under the chairmanship of Deputy Prime Minister and Commander of the National Guard Crown Prince Abdullah bin Abdulaziz.
