Yemeni President’s visit confirms close ties with Kingdom

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Fahd bin Abdulaziz received in Riyadh yesterday President of Yemen Ali Abdullah Saleh, who left today after a two-day visit to the Kingdom. During the meeting, the two leaders discussed international developments, notably Iraq and the Palestinian issue, as well as bilateral relations. President Saleh also held extensive talks with Deputy Prime Minister and Commander of the National Guard Crown Prince Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, and with Second Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector-General Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz.

In a press statement during his visit, President Saleh attested to the strength of the relations between the two countries, enhanced by the historic Jeddah Treaty, which represents a model for the solution of border disputes, and marks the start of a true partnership. The security of the two brotherly countries, he said, is one - what concerns the Kingdom, concerns Yemen; and cited the positive results achieved within the framework of the security cooperation agreement.
