The Advanced Electronics Company (AEC), a Riyadh-based company, has signed a maintenance contract with Nokia under which AEC will test, repair and provide full logistic support for Nokia GSM advanced networks for the Saudi Telecom Company (STC).

Meanwhile STC has announced that it will launch in the near future a new service, that of DSL LAN (Local Area Network) for small and medium enterprises, to help connect their branches. Web-based SMS will also be offered, in addition to videoconferencing facilities. In addition, STC plans to re-launch its V-SAT services to facilitate Internet access via satellite.
