Saudi doctor’s new procedure to repair damaged joints

Dr. Adel bin Mohammed Al-Hadlaq has discovered a new technique for the implantation of joints based on the use of stem cells available in the patient’s body. Stem cells are chemically treated and transformed into cells that can produce bones and cartilage, the main components of joints. Dr. Al-Hadlaq, who is sponsored by King Saud University, submitted his research on this procedure for his Ph.D. degree in the United States.
