Labor minister pledges employment for Saudi nationals

In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency yesterday, Minister of Labor Dr. Ghazi Al-Qusaibi pledged that his Ministry would work to end unemployment among Saudis, a phenomenon, he said, that has to be faced by decisive and firm resolutions, adding that “as long as doors are open wide for the recruitment of foreign expatriates, then it will be impossible to solve the problem of unemployment”. The Ministry of Labor will therefore take appropriate measures to decrease the number of foreign workers in a gradual and systematic manner.

Dr. Al-Qusaibi made it clear that the success of the Saudization process would be linked to that of the training programs, which requires the assistance of the private sector, saying businessmen should help young Saudis obtain suitable jobs.
