Prince Bandar sponsors Islamic Art exhibit in Washington DC

Ambassador to the United States Prince Bandar bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz has sponsored the exhibit of Islamic Art that was inaugurated last night at the National Gallery of Art in Washington DC. The exhibit, Palace and Mosque: Islamic Art from the Victoria and Albert Museum, will be on display there until February 2005, when it will go to Fort Worth in Texas, and then to Japan before returning to the United Kingdom. Prince Bandar commented on the timeliness of the exhibit, given the need today to build bridges of understanding between societies and cultures. This particular collection of Islamic treasures, he said, offers the opportunity to observe the history and culture of Islamic civilization.
