Prince Sultan arrives in Manama for GCC Summit

Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz, the Second Deputy Premier, Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector General arrived today in Manama to head the Saudi delegation to the 25th session of the Supreme Council of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).

In remarks to the press upon arrival in Manama, Prince Sultan thanked the Bahraini monarch, government and people for their warm welcome and generous hospitality in hosting 25th summit which is called Zayed summit, in honor of the historic achievements of late President of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.  Prince Sultan said this conference is being held in critical regional and international circumstances in which there is pressing need for unity.  Prince Sultan expressed confidence that the GCC will achieve it objectives and meet the needs of members.

Prince Sultan met separately tonight with President of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed bin Sultan Al-Nahayan, Prime Minister of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Alahmed Aljaber Alsabah, and the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani.  The meeting was held at Prince Sultan's guest residence in Manama.
