GCC Youth Camp under way in Abha

The eighth annual Youth Camp of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) began its activities in Abha yesterday. The eight-day event, organized by the World Assembly of Muslim Youth (WAMY), seeks to encourage young men to be actively involved in the development of their countries, and to help protect them against extremism and violence. More than 300 students from universities in the six GCC states - Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman and the United Arab Emirates as well as Saudi Arabia - are taking part in the religious, recreational, educational, and cultural activities. There will be field visits to the Asir national park, and training courses and seminars on banking, teamwork, and successful self-management as well as on sports.
