Three security officers killed while pursuing militants in Buraidah

The Interior Ministry has reported that three security officers were killed when their car caught fire after being hit by gunfire while pursuing a suspect vehicle. The officers were part of a security force carrying out operations at dawn yesterday morning in the southern part of the city of Buraidah. Seven militants were arrested in the operation.

Today, Assistant Interior Minister for Security Affairs Prince Muhammad bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz and Deputy Governor of Qassim Province Prince Abdulaziz bin Majed bin Abdulaziz performed funeral prayers for the three slain officers: Sergeant Mufleh Saad Ruweishid Al-Rasheedi, Sergeant Sayer Farhan Ghanim Al-Nomasi and Murif Shakir Eid Al-Rasheedi. On Saturday, Prince Muhammad and Prince Abdulaziz had paid a visit to the family of Yousef bin Ayed Al-Harbi, the security officer who was killed in Friday’s incident, and visited the three officers who were hospitalized in that incident.
