Next Tuesday, Deputy Prime Minister and Commander of the National Guard Crown Prince Abdullah bin Abdulaziz will formally open the 1,095-bed King Fahd Medical City in Riyadh. Minister of Health Dr Hamad Al-Manie commented on the occasion that the complex comprises four hospitals: a 459-bed general hospital with specialized clinics to treat chronic diseases and a 50-bed rehabilitation unit; a 300-bed children’s hospital; a 250-bed maternity hospital; and a psychiatric hospital. There is also an ambulatory care building, and a community center that has a mosque, a shopping center, a school, a day-care center and recreational facilities.
